She discovered the Tiroler Bauernkeller via an "all you can eat buffet" sign outside of it, with a price of €7.90 or something like that... you don't get a snack for €7.90. I didn't much feel like walking but she dragged me along, and we had just missed the buffet... but went in anyway. We were almost alone (having missed the buffet crowd) but the waiter was awesome. He gave us a limited English language menu, but Judy
asked if they had asperagus soup (as they had for lunch the previous day and he brought us a more extensive German menu. We both got a bowl of asperagus soup and I ordered the wienerschnitzel. After a bit I excused myself to visit the bathroom and from around the corner heard Judy exclaim and burst into laughter. I came back to find my plate, the biggest cut of wienerschnitzel -- by an order of magnitude -- that I have ever
seen in my life. This slab of breaded pork -- who am I kidding? This whole breaded pig -- was literally twice the size of the quite substantial plate that it was on. It was doubled over, and hanging off both sides. Seriously. No man could have eaten it. No family of 5 could have eaten it. But God knows we tried. Valiantly.
Then he brought a side of fries.
We will go back to the Tiroler Bauernkeller again. With a very empty stomach, though, and a side of Tums.
